Clubhouse

By day the Nantahala River surges with life along eight miles of mostly wooded banks inviting you to adventure in every whitewater pleasure – the chance to be challenged in more than twenty named rapids in a river that ranges from to world-class swirling waves to tranquil flat waters. A favorite of fans of whitewater rafting, canoeing and kayaking, the Nantahala helped form many USA Olympic competitors.

Dusk invites relaxation as a full day of adventure is soothed by pleasant reflection. Cast into this liquid silver for hungry trout of all kinds. Rainbow, brown and brook abound in the ideal cold temperatures of the waters emanating for the depth of the 30-mile shoreline, dam-controlled fiord-like lake, with the purest water you could ever hope to find – Lake Nantahala. The daring fly fisherman cast during the day into eddies of the rocky upper “Nany” for endless challenges and rewards. No wonder Trout Magazine crowned the Nantahala ‘a great American stream’.

By day or night, luxuriate on the 80-foot long covered deck suspended at the river’s edge of the Mystic Lands clubhouse or the private river islands. Yours to choose how to pass the time: outdoor fireplaces, island pavilion, picnic area, or the secluded fishing on a 10-acre Mystic waterfront forest-park.
